About
The name “Miroir du Cheval”, loosely translated, means “Mirror of the Horse”.
Here at MC Equestrian LLC we strive to offer professional, fun, educated instruction and training to both the horse and rider. Our approach to training/teaching is that the horse is a direct reflection of the rider’s own biomechanics.
The definition of biomechanics is: "The study of the mechanical laws relating to the movement or structure of living organisms."
If the rider is crooked and off balance, then the horse will be as well. It is our goal for the riders to learn and understand how their own body has a direct affect on the horse in the way it moves and performs. Understanding this makes you a better rider, competitor, and companion to your horse. No matter your riding discipline or style, biomechanics has something for everyone.
Where are we? MC Equestrian is based in Oklahoma USA.
Biomechanics may be a key part of the training, but at the heart of our passion is using horses as a ministry to bring honor and glory to God. Like the horse reflects the rider, we choose to live our lives in reflection of Him.
Marilyn is a USDF Bronze Medalist and a Certified Instructor with the following organizations:
CHA - Certified Horsemanship Association – Master Instructor & Clinician
PATH – Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship – Standard Instructor
Bio
Marilyn Coffey
"Like the horse reflects the rider, I choose to live my life in reflection of Christ."
I strongly believe I have been called to serve the Lord within the realm of horse ministry, using the horse to demonstrate godly principles and character qualities to people of all ages.
The Lord has given me a love for horses and a desire to be a light to those in the “horse world.” I have served as a volunteer Instructor/Trainer with a large variety of horse programs including therapeutic. I have been involved in a local 4H Horse Club and an equine Dressage Drill Team.
CHA became a part of my life in summer of 2011. Now as a CHA Clinician/Certifier, Master Instructor I have helped hundreds of instructors earn their EWI Certification(s) across half a dozen states. I have had the honor of being CHA's Oklahoma's State Representative and a spokesperson both at the local and international level speaking at CHA conferences all across the US.
In 2012 I earned my Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor Certification
"PATH International CTRI". Having a "Therapeutic Certification" I believe gives me a unique perspective on how to help riders learn both in the saddle and on the ground.
Dressage has been a passion of mine from the age of 10 years old. In the summer of 2015, I earned my USDF Bronze Medal (with scores earned on multiple horses) and I have goals to soon earn my Silver Medal. I am an active supporter of local Dressage Clubs/Societies and hope to further promote horsemanship excellence in my area.
Currently I run my own business named Miroir du Cheral Equestrian LLC (MC Equestrian for short), teaching and training both Western and English to all ages.
After getting married in July 2017, the business named "Miroir du Cheral Equestrian LLC (or "MC Equestrian" for short), moved from the Tulsa area to South OKC, then after a few years my husband's job took us temporally to Texas for one year. In that short year I traveled across TX teaching/training as well as monthly trips back and forth to OK to continue teaching my OK students. After that short year my husband's job took us back to Oklahoma settling us into the Purcell area. I am actively teaching/training both Western and English to all ages (at two or more locations) and accepting new clients for both training and lessons.
I regularly go to events so I can continue my education because I believe that bettering myself means my students and peers also benefit.
I am grateful for the opportunities the Lord has provided for me to share with others as He is teaching me to trust Him.
Here at MC-Equestrian
We take advantage of every request and opportunity to pray, praise, and worship the Lord with our clients. We incorporate our evangelistic ministry into our lessons and training when it is accepted and encouraged by the client. We do this to honor and glorify God. The Lord has blessed this ministry with a unique calling to a special mission field, we hope to be a light to those in the "Horse World."

Marilyn's Lesson and Personal Horses
Lesson Horse:
"Allinfasttime" / "Oliver"
Oliver is a gray off the track Thoroughbred. He raced a ton as a youngster and has had experience both in the hunter jumper ring and western riding.
He had a bit of a few rough patches in life (no fault of his own). He was found and rescued by a friend/colleague of Marilyn. When Marilyn began looking for a lesson horse, Oliver was suggested to her, and it was an easy decision... YES!
"I love his thinking mind.." said Marilyn during his evaluation ride. Oliver has now fully embraced his role as a lesson horse. He is well loved by students and is very patient with his riders.
His favorite task is jumping, but he also likes to teach the beginners how to steer and other basics.
Lesson Horse:
Jurgen fan Bluffview
Jurgen is a purebred Friesian gelding. Marilyn first met Jurgen when she was just a teen. Jurgen and Marilyn were a team, showing and training together for well over a decade! Both Jurgen and Marilyn truly had a very special bond and won numerous awards at the local, regional, and national level.
In the winter of 2017, Jurgen's owner made a hard decision to sell Jurgen. He was then bought and shipped to NV. To be truthful, Marilyn thought she would never see him again. However, 6 years later Marilyn was contacted by Jurgen’s new owner (in NV), and after several conversations (and much thought) that owner wanted to GIFT Jurgen to Marilyn! So... after 6 years apart, Marilyn is now the proud owner of HER beloved Jurgen. The reunion was very special. Jurgen is one of Marilyn's "Heart Horses!"
Any and all the lesson horses used my MC Equestrian are in full training with Marilyn and are regularly assessed to insure SAFE fun and effective lesson experience.
Ahrea Von G
The name 'Ahrea' means "Feathery Bird of Beauty"
Ahrea is a young Arabian Friesian cross that Marilyn bred herself. She is an 'up and coming' dressage star and Marilyn hopes to have a bright future with her. Her two older 1/2 siblings are competing at he highest levels in dressage and also at World competitions. She has one full bother who just sold to a "show home" in CO. Ahrea is the 1st foal and only daughter of OM EL Pashahn (sire). She is the 3rd foal and 2nd daughter of Cinke Van Stal Nuve (dam).
NFR's Double The Drama
NFR's Double the Drama, or "Desi" for short, is a registered paint mini that was broke to cart during the summer of 2011. Since then, she has been used for lead line lessons and practicing grooming for the very little ones. Desi loves kids and is super friendly.

Pictured below are some past and present horses in training, activities or barns where Marilyn is currently teaching and/or training. As well as highlighted memories/moments for Marilyn.
RohanRohan (named after the fictional kingdom in J. R. R. Tolkien's fantasy Lord of the Rings) is a Friesian Cross gelding. He stands 17.1 hh tall and is very FUN to work with. He has a good mind for Dressage and so far, has had a successful show carrier with Marilyn. | Hank (4Him Training horse)Hank is a Handcock bread horse that LOVES Dressage! You would think he would rather chase cows but NOPE! He wants to DANCE! Some have even said he would never amount to anything in Dressage just looking at his breeding... but Marilyn believes ALL horse types benefit from Dressage. Hank is now successfully rode in every Dressage clinic hosted by 4Him Ranch and is a favorite among all. Marilyn and Hank have been dancing partners since 2017 | Aurora (4Him Training horse)Aurora is a warmblood mare owned by one of Marilyn's clients. She is "forward thinking" horse and can be challenge to ride, but that's because of her talent! She and Marilyn have been working together (since 2017) to help her owner achieve higher level goals. She is currently schooling 3rd level Dressage. |

Duke (4Him Training horse)Duke is a handsome quarter horse gilding that Marilyn has had in training since 2017. He has quite the personality and is quick to please his rider. When he came into training with Marilyn he was reluctant and at times even dangerous to work with... but in a short time he now feels heard and understood and ENJOYS the training! Now BOTH the owner and Marilyn enjoy the ride with him. | CinnamonCinnamon was a rescue and was a mess when she was rescued she was defensive and angry. She was heavily abused in the head/face and was rode in a *razor wire bit* damaging/scarring 80+% of her tongue. She was labeled CRAZY by her previous owners. Marilyn began working her in the Fall of 2017 and now Cinnamon is always happy to see people and loves to go for a ride! Her structure/topline has COMPLETELY changed for the better. Marilyn & Cinnamon have a very special bond. | OM EL PashahnPasha is an Arabian and the Sire of Marilyn's horse, Ahrea. He was trained by Marilyn from the ground up. At the age of 4, Pasha started his showing career with Marilyn as his trainer. This photo was taken two years later at his second Recognized Dressage show during his musical freestyle. |

Marilyn has owned this mare since conception, and is looking forward to the future as Ahrea continues to grow and develop. Marilyn plans to show her soon! | S.C. Wild WillieA 'jack-of-all-trades', Willie was one very special horse to Marilyn! Willie was a Racing Quarter Horse, then later, was trained as a 4H horse. Years later, when Marilyn was 14 she was introduced to Willie as her new lesson horse. Two years later, Marilyn purchased Willie as her personal show horse. After many blue ribbons and showing at all kinds of shows, Marilyn retired Willie and taught lessons with him. In the summer of 2016, at the old age of 24, Willie breathed his last in Marilyn's arms. | RafflesAt the age of 15, Marilyn's dream of owning her very own horse finally became true.
